Press release

With internationally successful series such as “Coney Island” or “Sun City” to his record, Peter Granser now presents his new series “J’AI PERDU MA TÊTE”, his sixth book publication to date. For this new body of work, which does not only include photographs but also sound- and video installations, Granser visits a psychiatric hospital in the French provinces and portrays the place and it’s residents. Tobias Wall, who reviewed the work for PHOTONEWS, wrote: “Gransers images from the madhouse work without any freakshow or horror. They gain intensity from a respectful distance, trust and responsibility.” And Andrea Filippin wrote on urbanautica.com: “Peter Granser opens countless windows on a world that is unknown – and consequently feared, set aside. It’s up to us to dig below the surface, to catch the slightest gap between what exists and what we only choose to call real.”

PETER GRANSER, born 1971, gained international reputation through his book and exhibition project “Sun City” and the equally successful series “Alzheimer” and “Coney Island”. The book to the new series “J’ai perdu ma tête” was published by Edition Taube / Marraine Ginette Éditions. Granser works and lives in Stuttgart.
