Jan Bannings „Bureaucratics“ ist eine fotografische Studie über die Kulturen und Rituale öffentlicher Verwaltung, eine Reise durch die Amtsstuben von Stadträten, Archivaren, Verwaltungspräfekten und Dorfbürgermeistern in Indien, China oder den USA. Seit 2003 bereiste der holländische Fotograf insgesamt acht Länder, entstanden ist eine formal strenge, typologische Serie: Staatsdiener und ihre Schreibtische.

BUREAUCRATICS
Jan Bannings "Bureaucratics" is a photographic study about the cultures and rituals of public administration, a journey through the offices of town counsilors, registrars, municipal prefects and small town mayors in India, China or the US. Since 2003, the Dutch photographer has visited eight countries, creating a stringent typology of publiv servants and their desks.
